The family atmosphere was enhancing and made me feel welcomed.
The shared bathrooms were not as clean as I expected. Additionally, the small size of the room led to feelings of claustrophobia, especially when trying to navigate my luggage. Lastly, the location was far from the main attractions, making it inconvenient for exploring Kyoto.

Mama's delightful breakfast presentation was exceptional, and the cozy living area fostered great conversations with other guests.

the atmosphere was, I suppose, cozy, but the walls were so thin, I heard people doing their taxes all night. quite amusing, but not ideal for a 'luxurious' experience. I also expected complimentary breakfast for the price, but alas, no royal treatment for me. your unexpected failures truly ruin what could have been a delightful stay.

traditional wooden house, sense of community, calligraphy classes
While the ambiance is cozy, the thin walls are a real drawback!!! You can easily hear conversations from adjacent rooms, which might bother light sleepers like myself!!! Additionally, the walking distance from public transport can be a hassle at times!!!

Perfect for families seeking comfort
The hosts knew all the best local restaurants, and every meal was a winner, really good experiences that we wouldn’t have found alone. Mama even threw a birthday party for my kid, which showed how genuinely kind they are.
It wasn't inexpensive, but it was acceptable given the comfort and care we received.
